A Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed in early August, 2010 between PRESIDENCY OF ISLAMIC COMMUNITY (PIC), REPUBLIC OF KOSOVO and INSANIAH, specifically to conduct the Masters in Islamic Finance and Banking (MIFB) via the blended learning approach. Students would use the Learning Management System (LMS) and the facilities provided by the Internet to download course materials, chat with instructors, view webcams, take tests and submit assignments via the LMS. At scheduled intervals, scholars from INSANIAH would visit Kosovo, to deliver lectures and seminars on the topics listed in the course outline. The learning outcomes are well defined as the course MIFB is accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

Mufti Naim Tërrnava, who signed the Agreement on behalf of PIC, mentioned that PIC has a large collection of original materials hundreds of years old, documenting Islamic knowledge in various disciplines. He welcomes scholars from INSANIAH who wishes to do research in Kosovo using the material in the collection of PIC. The MOA and the launching of the MIFB scheduled for October 2010, is a landmark for both institutions. The Muslim Community in Kosovo is on track to establishing an Islamic Bank and it is expected that other Islamic Financial Institutions would be launched as well. INSANIAH via the MIFB will help give certification and provide the much-needed qualified human resources for the country. For INSANIAH it is part of its jihad to provide a holistic Islamic lifestyle and the opportunity to practice Islam as the deenulhaq. Let us all make du'a.
